But I'm a Cheerleader 1999
Rewatched this recently and it still remains one of my top favourite queer films of all time. You can tell how much thought, love and care has gone into the characters, costume and set design.
There’s just as much camp as there is heart while at the same time creating a satirical take on conversion therapy that points out how ridiculous the idea is - and that you can’t change who you are, no matter how much the people around you want you to.
Also the soundtrack slaps, I don’t think enough people talk about that !!
