The Joy Luck Club 1993
Watched this by picking a completely random movie from a number generator and watched without knowing anything about it. What a pleasant surprise! A dark yet uplifting story about 4 mother/daughter relationships and the stories of their shared past. Interesting themes of intergenerational trauma, and interesting culture dynamic between 1st and 2nd generation family members. Not a light film but definitely on my growing list of 90s classics
