I’ve put this film off for a long time as I’ve been swamped with work (pleasure), and only watched it because it was leaving Netflix, but I was absolutely blown away. From the crazy and all too comparable story about the author being expelled from Botswana in relation to a murder investigation, an incredible second debut from Olivia Newman, Daisy Edgar-Jones just as brilliant a performance as in Normal People, Mychael Danna nailing the score, and then Taylor Swift smashing it right out of the park with ‘Carolina’.

Mind-blowing, those first and last episodes were insane! All hail, The Sun God. I honestly learnt so much from this series, and it fits in well with my current read: A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.
