this movie unabashedly embodies all the worst stereotypes of queer people, treating the concept of queerness as inherently comedic. the exaggerated feminine expressions of the main character produce a paradoxical effect on the film's value. the inclusion of short-lived jokes that mock the stigmatization of queerness is, frankly, the epitome of absurdity in how it portrays the experience of being perceived as queer. the director and the main actor, who are not queer, attempt to glorify this portrayal as the first movie about queer people in Vietnam. honestly, it's a waste of time, constantly feeling disrespected due to the societal norms of gender expression.
