Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
Hats off to James Cameron, it takes a lot to make a film like this, and he managed to turn the biggest film in history into something he has been obsessed with for half his life..
With that said it's definitely a solid action/adventure film, the middle kinda drags on with the whale obsession but the rest makes up for it. Definitely not 9/10 like Avatar but 8/10 is quite earned; I'd appreciate a bit more human characters though (even if it was just the marines). I'm glad to be excited for the next film or two, not sure about the 5 more after that 💀

Maybe it's because I had my expectations lowered by everyone else, but ...I enjoyed the film? I can totally see how people would be disappointed in it, whether for the musical aspect, or the relatively less bombastic (boring ?) plot, how it kind of becomes a character study or whatever - not to mention the fate of the protagonist.
