The Dark Knight Rises 2012
It wasn’t until today that I realized I was gaslighting myself into thinking this was a phenomenal movie. It’s not. In fact it’s kind of doodoo compared to The Dark Knight. Instead of writing an essay, I’ll just list some pros and cons.
Pros
- Easily Christian Bale’s best performance as Bruce/Batman
- Tom Hardy
- Set pieces are some of the best Nolan has produced
- The Robin reveal will never not have me tear up

The Dark Knight 2008
So I definitely think both Oppenheimer and Spider-Man 2 are better movies, but still like a 95% masterpiece that I will round up to a 5/5. Even if you don’t think it’s perfect, it’s the definition of a remote drop movie for me. I see it on a streaming platform and I haven’t watched it in a while, that’s what I’m doing that day. One of the best opening scenes in a movie if not my number 1.

No Country for Old Men 2007
I don't really know what's kept from watching this film for so long. This movie is almost the epitome of doing so much with so little. The silence in the film speaks just as much volume as the dialogue. It's slow, and deliberate pace works for about 90% of the film, but there was like one scene that felt like it dragged on a bit too much. Beyond that, what an ending this film had as well. Fantastic performances, especially Bardem who becomes a character in the same chaotic realm for me that Heath Ledger as the Joker achieved. Solid 9.
