This movie was fucking excellent. Obviously, it was not without its faults - I really believe there was room to exploit an incredibly promising premise even further - but genuinely, I cannot hold any particular fault against it (even in that respect). Moral and ethical obligations/tension amok AND I ATE IT UP! Need more movies like this asap. Also shoutout Kiefer Sutherland cameo that’s my goat right there

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003
For someone who doesn’t cry at movies, this mf made me cry!!!!!! I think one of my favorite parts of this whole trilogy is (once again) the execution of the huge shots - the armies, the nature, the cities - they consistently impressed me to the last scene. This was definitely my favorite of the movies, despite almost throwing up over the GODDAMN SPIDER. Need to watch again asap because a lot of my time was spent making sure I understood the plot, but I know there’s a lot more to unpack.

I have a lot of mixed emotions about this movie to be honest. It definitely fell into the Disney trap of repeating moments in the sequel for the sole reason they landed well in the first movie, and that just doesn’t do it for me. Soundtrack was also not even close to being as strong bar Beyond (banger idc). I did generally enjoy it despite all of that, and I absolutely loved the sister relationship with Moana and Simea. Probably will reanalyze the rating after I watch it again🗣️
