    "Don't worry, Tulsi. These are just testing times. Everything will be fine and we will come out of it" murmurs 85-year old Padam Singh in a soulful performance. 

    Two octogenarians, and non actors remind us that cinema is not enacted but lived. They put their own existence and experiences in the film, which is a meticulously crafted tale about loneliness, will to survive, migration from mountains to the plains and everlasting hope.

    Saw another great indian film at @tallinnblacknightsff which won the grand prix at cannes '24.
    A story which on one hand has a female gaze, feminine solidarity and has a class conscious structure which comes from Payal's pro-Marxist leanings. However, on the other, what makes the film beautiful is not the aforementioned elements but rather how she imbibes them into a poetic tale of three women who are stuck in the claustrophobic confines of Mumbai.
