  Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 1992

  ★★★½ Rewatched 17 Nov 2022

  It's a sequel so it's literally Home Alone 1 just pushed a bit farther... I mean at one point because one of Kevin's traps Marv literally turns into a skeleton! Ouch!

  Spoiler alert! Madea is barely in this film and it isn't until we are in the final third of the film where she even goes to "jail" (technically it is a prison).

  I feel like this worked the best when it wasn’t trying so hard to be profane or gross. While most of the best moments you saw in the trailers the scenes where the “Good Boys” interact with other members of the cast including the girls at the final party really stand out. These calmer moments looking at the awkward interactions of middle school kids really shine.

  This could be a Superbad for a new generation but for me it was so difficult to erase the feeling that it was trying too hard to be just that.
