    I've found my new comfort film.

    On a re-watch, it looks like John Sayles' editing choices are a little wonky. And I'd argue the beginning is a little slow on its feet. But who cares. I just love the bond between Chantelle and May-Alice and all the little side characters that grace the screen for a moment or two. It's a slow drama but it rewards you with small scenes that feel sincere and heartfelt.
