wud’ve rated it higher but the film kept buffering and it just put me soo off so I kind of clocked out mid way through and didn’t really grasp that girlboss feminism critique towards the end

La Chinoise 1967
I was reminded in Véronique’s unquenchable & blinded thirst for direct action and cultural iconoclasm of a dear (Marxist) friend & roomate of mine. Although (like Henri & Véronique) I enjoyed our debates thoroughly , her fiery cynicism and anger towards all institutions of discourse & power made her quite the intense (& at time exhausting) person to exchange ideas with - always her way or no way.
