has some good moments and analogies for social issues in singapore (e.g. classism, white people BS, caning) but never fully fleshes out any of them in a meaningful way and turns into 'lets all hold hands and sing kumbaya also i forgive my mom for beating me because she has cancer' nonsense. would have worked better as a full drama rather than fitting all this into one movie.
