  finally. the amount of times i have used this film as a reference WITHOUT HAVING EVEN SEEN IT is probably some sort of felony. that being said, it completely lived up to and maybe even exceeded my expectations. the mix of cinematography, editing and graphics just made this a hell of a thing to watch. the little meta moments and quick humour was a delight, and it still holds up reasonably well today.

  the combination of rold dahl and wes anderson is quite possibly one of the greatest mix of writers ever. such an engaging and thrilling story with as per usual, beautiful cinematography. this short brings to life the common desire to actually see the visuals of an audiobook, with the narration being played out by the characters in real time. and also, who doesn’t love ralph fiennes and benedict cumberbatch (and richard ayoade)

  a truly terrifying reality of some dude just being fucking gaslit for an hour and a half. Still an awesome concept and pretty satisfying ending.
