Well, this is a painfully accurate film about recreational drug use. The heaviness of it creeps up on you as you watch it, initially seeming like a Project X type of thing, but it slowly dawns on you that this runs deeper than that. This film spectacularly combines glamourising drug use, and showing the reality, which perfectly sums up the highs and lows.

This film is good for what it is: an energetic, positively messaged spy film for kids. You can’t expect it to be outstanding, as it wasn’t made for adults, but I still enjoyed watching it. Was the message cringey? Of course, it’s marketed towards children, but if you look past that you can still appreciate the humour and overall storyline.

I have been gradually working my way through the Studio Ghibli films, emphasis on gradually as I want each film to represent a different part of my life. And I must say, I am so glad that this is the one I chose for now.

Jordan Peele has such a refreshing take on horror, with genuinely likeable protagonists that don’t act irrationally or just plain stupidly (although their persistence with filming it was not the wisest decision).
