Always weird to watch a film that I feel like I have already seen through countless references, but still really enjoyed this.
Some of the humour and dialogue was a bit lost on me, but the film is 83 years old and it felt pretty timeless for the most part. The Marseillaise scene was absolute peak cinema, and Humphrey Bogart was in beast mode for the basically the entire third act
The final scene absolutely earns its famous reputation, I was applauding once those credits rolled
Watched the 10-year anniversary screening at the Prince Charles theatre.
Like all Nolan films, this definitely benefits from a rewatch but watching it in the cinema didn't improve my experience in the way that I hoped.
For the most part, this is probably the most boring film in his discography, I forgot how little actually happens in the first act.
I think Interstellar is best summarised as a pretty uninteresting story punctuated by a few really exceptional set pieces.
McConaughey…
First 20 mins I was worried that the film’s charm might be lost on me, but I’m very glad I persevered. There’s some really great chemistry between the two main characters and Ralph Fiennes steals the show in the third act.
One of the few films which I think everybody should like and appreciate.
When I heard the basic plot of the film described to me, I have never wanted to watch anything less.
Needless to say, it's really, really good (by far Sofia Copolla's best film). Bill Murray is just great when he is committed to a role, and Scarlet Johansson is amazing as well.
Not ashamed to say that a tear was brought to my eye.
