The use of colours and obscurity within both the camera angles used and the surroundings shown perfectly represent the growth and childlike wonder Bella Baxter exhibits. The use of black and white can be portrayed as both the boredom and monotony she experienced before venturing into the outside world and it can also reflect the reality that infants don't see in full colour for the first few months of their lives.
