This will forever remain one of my fave disney films. It's such an easy watch that is actually quite different to anything they've done before, with a clean cut animation style (typical modern disney) and a subtle hint at real world issues.

Artistically, this film makes some fun choices. I feel like I watched a long film where nothing really happened though? Perhaps that's because we were chatting and messing around while watching it. I will rematch it at some point so I can understand it without interruptions. It made for a good night with friends though!

Artistically, this film is stunning, with beautiful costumes, cinematography, and ties to the original film. I adore the back lighting in the dark forest scene - how beautiful it makes him appear.

However, I did feel the movie was a little lacking narratively; it's very slow up until Willem Dafoe is introduced, and I found myself not really caring about the characters or their fate. Maybe this is just personal preference, I don't know.
