A iluminação cria um imaginário inédito ao retratar um Rio de Janeiro com uma estética quase cyberpunk. A atuação de Fernanda Montenegro é impecável e, à exceção de Alan Rocha, contrasta com a performance e os diálogos mais superficiais dos demais personagens. A câmera, ao seguir a jornada kafkiana da idosa enfrentando um mundo burocrático e lidando com a fragilidade do próprio corpo, remete ao filme filipino Lola, de Brillante Mendoza. Já os momentos de bisbilhotagem evocam, sem dúvida, Janela Indiscreta, de Hitchcock.

The Decameron 2024
It began as a very faithful adaptation of the book, with characters that lacked depth but represented archetypes of their time—selfish, petty, and deceitful. It ended up like any current Netflix series. Everyone was a terrible character, but some became bigger villains than others and met an exemplary fate. A need to create identification with the viewer. I started the series very excited and I finished it with the same weariness as always.
