  Who the hell is saying this was a love triangle?
  The beautiful gothic and mysticism aesthetics aside, it was such a haunting and dreadful examination of trauma and the all-consuming withdrawal into shame and self-imposed guilt- a violation and predation that doesn't stop with the "marking" of the body, but seeping into one's identity and reality and the suffocating loneliness of it all.

  I rewatched this movie in it's entirety since my first watch at 16. I don't believe in hating a remake just because it's newer and I don't dislike this movie. It is a lovely film and it was nice to rewatch. But I've never loved the casting choices. To me there is such a disconnect and a lack of chemistry that I felt between some of the characters.
