The book was awful, so I didn’t expect the movie to be amazing, but I liked it better because I didn’t have to suffer through terrible writing and letters to Ellen Degeneres and the Finding Nemo “just keep swimming” references 🤮. You experience the same twist as the book since half of it is a romance until the shocking moment he hits her. I read the book years ago but it kept the important/memorable scenes.
