  My childhood and consequently my humor was molded by this film. I’m biased and suggestion that it be mandatory for all people to watch this upon reaching adulthood to show them the true grit of the world.

  Zatoichi in Desperation 1972

  It’s a gritty look at what the world of Zatoichi can be like. With Katsu directing, he made clear choices to change the formula established by previous films, and being in new techniques to offer a more modern variation of the series.

  Unfortunately I personally cannot suggest this film due to some of its more egregious content, but if you are a fan of the series and have made it this far, it will be like someone dropping a bucket…
