  Did we really need that 30-minute collage illustrating the happiness of the family to understand the misery of what happened later? The movie basically begs for the empathy of the audience, then chooses to tell the story of a deputy’s family to represent a dark time for the nation, not one of the 200 people that remain unnamed.
