I really liked that they didn’t force a romantic relationship between the two main characters.

I really liked that it didn't take itself seriously and embraced its campness and ridiculousness. This film is as disturbing as it is funny.

how i perceived it,
to me, this movie is about desires being shaped by media and your societal background. the piano teacher, frustrated by a strict, overbearing mother, finds sexual release in pornography and voyeurism - which eventually shapes her fantasies.

eventually, she expresses her desires to Walter, though she is quickly disillusioned by her pre-conceived fantasies when it becomes reality.

walter takes advantage of her, and, bluntly is a monster.

generally,
the acting in this movie is phenomenal. the cinematography is great, a lot of memorable one shot scenes. many scenes where i felt incredibly uncomfortable and nervous.
