  After watching Blindspotting, me and the wife agree how some of the theatrical choices could have ended up being embarrassingly pretentious, but the sheer energy of the filmmakers instead create one of the most important socially relevant pieces of art of recent years.

  The Hills Have Eyes as directed by a proto-metal album cover and a gas station Black Sabbath shirt.

  A giddily violent exploitation arthouse vision that's this unapologetically self-indulgent and self-aggrandizing certainly deserves as many eyeballs as it can. As much as it will disgust most of the general audience, those looking for a truly unique vision and at least a stylistic subversion of the tired revenge fantasy genre should flock to see this.
