i expected to see a horror movie but got more of an emotional drama. the first act of the movie felt super different from the last act, leaving me feeling a little disoriented?? amy adams was great and i appreciated how caring the movie was toward mothers and women. overall, i wish was got a Little bit of something more, whether it’s leaning more into horrors of turning into a dog or leaning further into the metaphor of turning into something you don’t recognize bc of motherhood?? IDK complicated thoughts. lemme call me mom rq and tell her i appreciate her.

shoutout to the foley artists who worked on this film!!! i was thoroughly disgusted by the sound effects :D the movie projects the inner insecurities/fears people have through body horror and i found myself thinking about the themes of this film way more than i thought i would.

look at her,, she’s WICKED!!! SUCH a good movie and ariana grande’s performance stood out to me much much more than i expected. i walked away from the film feeling much more sympathetic toward glinda than i did when i watched the musical. loved how the movie expanded upon the universe in ways musicals can’t. the viewer got closer looks at actors’ micro-expressions while also seeing huge life-size sets. this movie is really such a movie and it’s like ur watching a movie
