Fun concept, I’m a sucker for dystopian sci-fi worlds so it’s quite easy to please me with average films of that genre (Life, Passengers) but despite a strong start, this one was nothing special, very forgettable and classic example of a lacking third half.

It reminded me of a drawn-out Marvel movie at the end. The whole “Bad dictator coming to take land that’s not his” trope got tired in 2011, I would’ve liked to see this focus more on…

Solid fun, you won’t get bored but you’ll probably forget it within 12 hours.

I’m not gonna lie to you my dear Letterboxd fanbase, I was pretty high and did not for the life of me understand what the plot was about. But with 3D glasses on and in IMAX, I just turned off my brain and enjoyed the fight scenes.

3 stars for the fight scenes (thank GOD it’s not PG-13 but R) and some of the jokes that landed + Hugh Jackman. Missing two stars for the dumb ass plot and Ryan Reynolds, the most try-hard insufferable currently living actor. Also, Matthew you’re so much more talented than this - but I get it, get that bag.

Surprise surprise, everyone loves this pretentious garbage on Letterboxd. Well I’m here to tell you that this must be a social experiment to see what Yorgos Lanthimos can get away with, following Poor Things and with an ensemble cast.

Put my out of my misery.
