I love films that are about 1-2 things and tell the story in a funny, charming way

How good is this movie? The Performances. The multiple genres this film evolves into seamlessly. So freakin funny. Everyone in it

An allegory for jingoistic Reagan era racists. This movie was from the 80s but seemingly set in 1950s America. It was clear to me the filmmakers were trying to tell us Gremlins represent foreigners invading the US under the cover of darkness multiplying easily and terrorizing white America. Their were odes to classic Christmas films but it was half-assed and not original. They threw a bunch of crap at the screen and tried to see what stuck.The mixed messaging at the end was weird and tried to lay blame on society but the damage was done.

This was probably the first movie we saw after my wife and I got married. I remember liking the performances, not sure much else. We saw it at King of Prussia. Probably don't need to see it again.
