  What a beautiful film. I was affraid Méliès inspired films died a decade ago. The absurdities with differant mediums played to stage backdrops with nobility and clergy power stuggles thrown in that's this film hit hard in multiple ways.

  Void of music so I watched with this playlist. They are all Italian symphonic composers from around the time the film is set. For Part III I recommend skipping 12 minutes in so it works better with the timing, its why I added a timestamp.

  My first experience of the infamous “Hong Kong dubbing” and man did it impact the film. The voice actors saw that this story is about too friends who are like brothers but instead read this story is about two bros.

  It’s sacrilege but this film was watched in not one but two sittings. The Christmas pic me and my father watched over that eve and next day. This review can’t say that it was a wise choice, it feels such a shame to write such a review so short compared to the films length but things will go over anyone's head who wasn’t paying attention to take notes while watching like in my case.
