  I'm quite suprised nobody talks about how harmful the message of the movie is to people suffering with mental illness. It shows a woman being abuse by her adoptive mother because of her mental illness. But wait... her a abuser was actually right to abuse her because when free of her bad treatments, she becomes a serial killer. Not only is it a harmful stereotype, but also suggests that people with mental illness should be locked up and abuse to be contained, for everyone else's safety. A very very ugly discourse that I wish I heard more about before getting into this movie.
