  A fun, fun romp of a film. Connery is definitely the kind of zaddy that everyone secretly wants (except with a monk’s tonsure instead of au natural male pattern baldness). Christian Slater is an exceptional sweet boy. 
  My main criticism of the film is that the the postmodernism is supplied almost completely by the language. There are some POMO feelings in the specific eroticism shared by Connery and Slater and the incredible grotesque casting of the Benedictines, but I wanted…
