  was extremely lucky to catch a preview of this, followed by a discussion between the director & Malala Yousafzai (an executive producer). what really struck me was to see so clearly how slowly radicalism/fundamentalism creeps up on societies (this is of course true everywhere, not just in the case of Afghanistan). the director said this film would be impossible to make now (it was filmed in 2021, and recently the taliban banned women from even speaking publicly). beautifully made and extremely depressing. if you watch this, watch hollywoodgate too.
