  the way this is lowkey all j edgar hoover's fault
  (if he hadn't pushed for the "sex deviates program", then there likely wouldn't have been as intense of anti-queer regulations in federal government, and if there weren't intense anti-queer regulations in the federal government, then cohn wouldn't have as strong of a bargaining chip against that first judge for the discrimination lawsuit, and if trump had lost that case... who knows where we'd be right now)
  on a lighter note, i like how much of this was handheld. it made it feel like a really weird documentary in a similar vibe to kiarostami's "close-up")

  as someone who’s currently going to school for classical music, i loathe this movie with an intense, burning passion.

  i finally watched this movie in whole. 
  as i previously gathered from watching the first twenty minutes, it remains this inaccurate narrative of life in the classical music field as a whole, especially as someone who is not a cishetero, white man. 
  blanchett’s conducting is completely incorrect from that of a trained conductor. her hands are flung around as if she’s casting a spell or hitting a baseball bat, with little to no authenticity. the actress that played shanon was…
