The amount of storytelling mechanisms in this movie is crazy.
Almost from start to finish Maria's story is told by the men around her. From the men's faces in the cafe in Madrid where we do not even see her to the words of high society men in the voice over. Until the last fifteen minutes when she finally takes over after stepping out of her fairytale.
