As a person, Leda is unforgivable. As a character, I didn't approve of her decisions and yet there was till empathy there. Maybe that also makes me an incredibly selfish person.
Nothing has ever portrayed the state of a character's emotions more viscerally than Olivia Coleman numbly kicking her luggage down a flight of stairs.
Subtle. When young Leda presumes the hiker's kids are girls, because she is already considering leaving.

• snappy editing. particularly the vending machine to seaside cut. time passing and moving location with the opening of a can
• really nice visuals at times: sillouhette on the roof, comedic bathtub, lying out to dry in a field
• drunk night sequence
• walking on water sequence
it seemed like some scenes wanted to be longer than they actually are.
i liked it more and more as it went on.
