Lawrence of Arabia 1962
It’s well made so I don’t mind it’s 4 hours long. Accurately portrays Lawrence as a narcissistic maniac, but also doesn’t do enough to avoid implying said British imperialist invented Arab nationalism. Omar Sharif was consistently the best part. As my second Peter O’Toole film after Ratatouille, I still prefer Ratatouille (Remi would never wear blackface 🐀). To Lean’s credit, I wasn’t expecting a 1962 film to (deliberately?) lean so hard into homoeroticism.
