Definitely a movie to watch with friends at home where you can loudly laugh at the bad dialogue, uncanny cgi rib cages, and crazy decisions made my producers and actors alike.

    The Killer

The Killer falls into the niche of the action genre that you could call 'Competency Porn'. While stylish and action filled, the main draw of the film is watching its main character complete tasks and plan ahead with grim efficiency with Morrissey's vocals in the background.

It's a similar feel to No Country for Old Men, except the main character is the cat instead of the mouse.

There's pretty much nothing to say that hasn't already been said about this masterpiece.

The cinematography is incredible especially considering it was filmed with Hitchcock's TV crew.

The music is its own character altogether.

Everyone gives a good performance except probably John Gavin whose character was just a little dull.

Plus, it's the first film to show a toilet.

This is one of those movies you have to know what you're getting into before sitting down to watch. The visuals are captivating the whole way through but the storytelling places the responsibility on the audience to make the connections between the scenes. It's message, like all Kubrick films, is ambiguous and multiple interpretations can be found with each viewing. The orchestrated soundtrack is so iconic that it's been parodied to death. Little to no action but the visuals are so interesting that it's no issue, unless you're looking for a movie to watch casually.
