Admittedly started to lose my mind in this one. Spent about 45 minutes in the middle thinking about Shelob's sexy spider legs, long past her screen time. This movie hates women. Spent a while considering how shit this movie is at diversity, and trying to work out if middle earth has an equator line. Enjoyed the journey of Sam's frying pan, which lasted right into Mordor. Got concerned at every horse on screen in case it was another pantomime horse.…

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002
Spent a considerable amount of time thinking about Eowyn. What a nuanced character honestly. Everyone else knows who they are and she doesn't and it's so interesting. I want to study her under a microscope. Also really noticed how much effort went into character specific manicures. Everyone's nails match their character. That would drive me insane. No figwit on this one, but quickbeam is pretty good.

First thing to note: people love not buttoning up their shirts in these movies.
An interesting choice for a sequel. I always enjoy a movie that focuses more on interpersonal conflicts rather than fighting or world-ending threats. So early on in this franchise, the stakes aren't so high everthing gets bogged down by them.
