You take Katharine Hepburn place her in a stunning setting on beautiful color film (and oooph the colors) add in a bit of yearning, loneliness, and forbidden desire and poof a movie. One of the most imaginative films I’ve ever seen. I finally get the hype. While not not obvious or in your face I loved how he touches on greed and our destruction of the planet. I liked researching the film after and seeing how much was inspired by folklore and mythology. My favorites were the soot spirits they were the cutest lil guys. So many shots were just so stunning. A really moving film.
