The Monkey 2025
I liked the first two acts a lot more than the third, by the end it just felt like it wasn't even worth the hassle? Kills are really gnarly, and it has a good sense of humor. Just wish these short story films (The Black Phone) were able to be a bit more fleshed out, it feels like there's a large amount of depth missing.

it’s always fun when a movie feels inspired and like it actually wants to exist. doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s smart, funny and very brutal. what i honestly liked most was how well it toed slasher to romcom, both felt equally thought out. horror is fun baby!

Chewed on it for a full 24 hours and I just didn’t like it. I really wanted this to be a “It Comes At Night” type of movie but it just felt like an empty trip. Acting is great, but the story is truly what fell apart for me.
