Maybe I'm misunderstanding the movie, but wasn't that a terrible adaptation? The common theme throughout all nine short stories in I, Robot is that the robots never actually deviate from the Three Laws. They may malfunction, sure, but they always adhere to the laws, which leads to unexpected situations where those very laws are challenged in intricate ways. The movie, on the other hand, just made the robots evil for no real reason.
