  No words can even describe how much I love this film. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a work of art. Some would call it slow-paced; I think the pacing allows you to contemplate and immerse yourself in the visuals and sound design that Stanley Kubrick created.

  Metropolis 1927

  Spellbinding high budget sci-fi movie (the first of the genre) that holds up even a century later. The visuals were groundbreaking for its time, and despite there being no audible dialogue, the performance of the cast was exceptional. I especially liked the lead actress who had a double role as a leader of an anti-establishment cause, and an uncanny robot masquerading as her, put in place by the rich to brainwash the public into acting against their own best interest. Feels eerily like the present; some stories never change.

  It actively hurt to watch this one, especially knowing how (technically) formulaic the first two Home Alone movies were, this movie revealed just how dull the formula was if stripped of good acting or physical comedy.

  Really boring plot, awful music, and terrible characters. However it’s 1.5 stars rather than a half star because at the very least, the film’s plot was coherent, kept my attention and I understood what was going on.
