This movie wants to act like it has a lot to say but all it really does is make surface level observations about theology and treat the viewer like a dumbass. Makes no insightful criticisms of religion as institution, despite that being it's central theme and core premise. Acting was decent though.

God I fucking love this movie, the depth is insane. One of the rawest commentaries on human nature and hubris out there and probably my favorite apocalypse movie. Plus the action is not only amazingly well done but does so much storytelling. The scene where the rebels fight back the soldiers and their night-vision with torches is genius. It's technology and the hubris of man vs nature and humanity's place as a part of the world we live in, not as gods that live outside it's order.
