Candyman 2021
As an activist piece this would get a 3.5, but as a horror movie (which it is as a sequel or remake, and the way it was targeted) its -3. Fans of horror and the macabre, be forewarned, this is a flop. I had no preconceived notions, no love for the first one (I haven't seen it) so my disappointment doesn't stem from hope or expectation. The tropes and cliches of the 'modern artists' fall flat as well. There were some shots that would satisfy any fan of cinematography, but it was mostly forgettable.
