The Substance 2024
The substance was gross - exacerbated by the fact I did not understand what I was getting into and walked in 20 min late at the beginning of the stitch up scene. I have neutral feelings about satire as a genre but unnecessary gore is not my thing and it wasn't critical to the movie's messaging so why have so much? my qualms with this film include lack of plot development and multidimensional characters apart from anora. I also found it unfitting that she folded easily when the mom pressed her about going to court. Too much hype for what the movie was but still decent. The Russian henchman’s bluntness was enjoyable
