    I happened to walk to Lisbon Cinemateca this morning and was delighted to see a season dedicated to Terence Davies and that they were showing this film tonight. A blind spot that I had tried to futilely fill a few months ago.

    The most beautiful poem in cinematic form. Every broken mirror, a painting and I cannot get over how Terence Davies and Michael Coulter lit this. Vale TD. I cried all my skincare off. I will be thinking about this film forever.

    UPDATE: Crying about this film at random moments? Oh baby we are upping it to 5 stars.

    There are too many genius things in this film and I love that JMS gives everyone great lines and delightful moments. Shoutout to Peter Riegert’s pronunciation of “Cabernet Sauvignon” and the guy in the supermarket who drinks the milk from the carton and puts it straight back in the fridge.
