  Throughout the movie I couldn’t help but keep thinking about the similarities between Ralph Fiennes’s character in this movie and in The Menu. I imagine them to be the same person in different universes—one where he worships God and the other where he worships himself (and food). Both men are looking for an ideal that does not exist. 
  Just like The Menu, I loved this movie. I love how real everyone feels—and how fake many of them are. I love the role the nuns play throughout everything, both seen and unseen. 
  This movie deserved its Oscar.
