12 Angry Men 1997
Amazing that they managed to keep it in one room with the same twelve actors for a whole two hours, and it’s still wildly better and more intense than most modern day films. Probably didn’t cost them all that much to produce it either. Excellent movie. Will definitely be re-watching this

Doubt 2008
Alright I cannot stress enough how painfully gripping and terrible this movie is. Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman make their characters seem too real, and there is no lack of complexity to the storyline or themes. Exposes how easily depravity and corruption can enter such a protected institution like Catholicism while also demonstrating the delicate and indefeasible nature of priesthood…. The kind of movie I will probably never stop thinking about.

The Farewell 2019
I begrudgingly watched this to improve my Mandrin skills, and it quickly became one of my new favorite films. Also - Awkwafina is one of the few modern day actresses who is genuinely talented at comedy.
