very very disjointed—an attempt to correct movies like extremely wicked, shocking evil and vile by pairing the charm directly with the murders but instead it fails to connect the pieces. the cuts between violent murders and a fun cutesy game show don’t match up. how am I meant to care about anna kendrick’s character’s acting career next to young women being raped and murdered? the cuts away also cut through any potential tension. want to love the movie just for anna kendrick but it’s just not possible
