If you view it as its own film outside of the Godzilla franchise and as a cliche 90s popcorn blockbuster, it’s an absolutely fun time.

There’s a short montage where it just cuts between random conversations of locals or tourists before it comes back to Jesse and Celine and I think that encapsulates what this movie is.
