I found the loud nose breathing from Voldy quite amusing. Enjoyed the drama of it all and an insight into a shrouded ritual, but I didn’t really get emotionally invested. Lots of silly men running about? I did like when the nun had her moment, what a queen 😌 It was also an interesting exploration of sin and humanity and greed, so that was cool.

Liked the happy ending 😉
This was an interesting, albeit anxiety inducing/uncomfortable, depiction of female sexuality within the patriarchy. A very raw portrayal of sexual shame which isn’t usually talked about openly.
Also, the power of the words “it’s ok” is unmatched. Receiving recognition and forgiveness of something you feel shame about is BOOM mic drop powerful. It’s like the releasor of shame. Acceptance from others allows acceptance of ourselves. We could all do with a little less shame, a little more acceptance.
The movie also sparked very open conversation between myself and Jonah, which is a pretty awesome thing for a film to achieve.

This review goes out to Lady J who I know loves Paddington and has recently appreciated my love of Frozen II, and to Jonah who I accidentally watched this movie without, but who I will gladly rewatch with at his next convenient time.
